Design Inspiration for Cryo
My design inspiration for this beer came from female comic book characters. I wanted to exaggerate the "crying" aspect in the name to sell the cryogenic concept by tying in details that can be related to being cold or frozen.
I'm Not Cryo... You're Cryo Design
For my final design, I used a comic book design to showcase the product and it's name. I chose to design icicle-like shapes in replacement of the typical halftone design which resulted in tying the design together. The shade of blues indicate the concept of the frozen hops which make up the Cryo beer. Because my focal design is on the side panel, I drew the hair to wrap around the speech bubble and flow into the opposite side panel. By doing this, my design indicates it appears on all sides of the can. My choice of typeface is Anime Ace 2.0 BB, which happened to be the most likely seen in a real comic book. Each design choice was made to be cohesive throughout and enhance the concept of the cryogenically frozen hops.
Design Inspiration for Jamm'd
Originally when I was looking at inspiration for "Jamm'd", I gravitated towards the matte blacks with accents of red and white. I thought this had a luxurious feel but could also be seen as a classic design style. Looking at other designs from Tall Tales, I thought this would be a new take on designs for craft beer in the Salisbury area.
Jamm'd Design
My design choice for "Jamm'd" stemmed from my inspiration of using skulls. Thinking of beer, I wanted to take the name that may be associated with food and cooking, and turn it into a graphic that could be seen on the back of a motorcycle rider's leather jacket. As I was researching the Kettle Sour beers, I decided to emphasize the word sour by creating a skull vomiting the flavors of the beer and dripping its own fluids. The typeface used for "Jamm'd" is Almaq Rough, which has a texture to it that I found correlated to my intended theme of the design. I added a texture to the skull to keep consistency throughout. I kept the black background simple with muted colors in the design to allow for the white text and skull to be easily read and noticeable.
